The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, has embarked on grassroots mobilisation campaign for the All Progressives Party (APC) ahead of the February general elections.
Abdullahi (APC-Umaisha/Ugya constituency) on Tuesday started his ward-to-ward campaign at Shege ward in Toto Local Government Area of the state.
He solicited for the support and votes of his constituents to enable him win his third term election into the state legislature.
“I am also appealing to you to vote Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC Presidential candidate; His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, and other APC candidates come February and March elections.
“Tinubu, if elected as Nigeria’s President will consolidate on the achievements so far recorded by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has done well, let’s all return him to the government house for second term as this will enable us and others enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he said.
The speaker said that the grassroots campaign for ward-to-ward would cut across all the six electoral wards of his constituency, including Umaisha, Ugya, Katapha, Dansu and Kenyehu, respectively.
He said that the second round of the exercise would be tagged ”meet the people of Umaisha/Ugya”, where himself and the campaign team would be meeting the people door-to-door to mobilise support for APC in his constituency.
He appreciated the people for the support he had been receiving in the last eight years and solicited for more in the upcoming elections.
“You are all aware of what I have done and still doing in the state legislature in the areas of health, education, roads, electricity, employment, youths and women empowerment.
“I will do more, if voted for the third term,” the speaker urged.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that various speakers at Shege’s ward appreciated the giant strides of Abdullahi and his all inclusive leadership style, assuring him of their support in the upcoming elections.
Earlier, the speaker was at the palace of the first class traditional ruler of the area, Ohimege Opanda, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, to receive royal blessings.
The traditional ruler appreciated the speaker for living up to expectations and prayed as well as wished him well in his third term ambition. (NAN)
