The Centre for Public Service Productivity and Development (CeProd) successfully convened its 2025 Leadership Summit, Membership Induction, and Honorary Doctorate Award Ceremony on July 26, 2025, at the prestigious University of Lagos.
Under the theme “Rebuilding a Productive Nation: Strategic Leadership for National Renewal,” the event attracted an impressive assembly of scholars, policymakers, and business leaders, all united to envision a prosperous future for Nigeria.

According to Egbu, the Summit in partnership with Crown University International Chartered Inc. USA and the Association of Pension Desk Practitioners of Nigeria (ASSOPEP), featured prominent speakers including Hon. Ironbar Emmanuel Bassey, Chief of Staff to theGovernor of Cross River State.
In his remarks, Bassey stressed the government’s commitment to productivity-driven governance, setting a hopeful tone for the discussions ahead.
“The summit included two thought-provoking keynote addresses aimed at redefining leadership and national development.
“Dr. David A Samuel, a noted economist and public policy expert from Trinity University, Lagos delivered a compelling presentation on “Public Policy and Economic Reform.” He highlighted the paradox of Nigeria’s
resource wealth juxtaposed with widespread poverty, urging systemic reforms to address infrastructure deficits.
“Nations don’t rise by luck or slogans. They rise by systems that work and people who are willing to build,” he asserted.
Following Dr. Samuel, Professor Evans Osabuohien from Covenant University captivated the audience with his address, “Integrity in Leadership: Combating Corruption for National Renewal.”
He framed integrity as a strategic imperative for Nigeria’s future, advocating for institutional independence and digital transparency in governance.
A highlight of the event was the induction of 18 new Fellows of CeProd (FCP), recognised for their commitment to leadership and productivity.
Dr. Chris Egbu praised the inductees for their dedication in completing a rigorous master’s programme focused on productivity enhancement. The diverse cohort includes professionals from academia, healthcare, engineering. finance, and international development, reflecting CeProd’s commitment to fostering mutisectoral impact.
