Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has assured of its readiness to ensure that quality and affordable education is provided to the people of the state.
Hon Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman House Committee on Education gave the assurance when the Ministry of Education appeared before the committee on its 2024 budget defence today in Lafia.
Hon Bala said that the importance of education to the development of the state cannot be overemphasized.
” His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has invested so much in the education sector.
” As he has zeal and passion for the education sector.
” We will give him the maximum support to succeed in achieving his dreams in the education sector,” he said.
Hon Bala assured of the committee support to ensure the ministry’s budget is giving all the necessary approval.
He called on the management of the ministry to continue to be up and doing in ensuring that the right things are done for the overall development of the education sector.
The Committee Chairman assured of addressing the challenges facing the ministry.
Earlier, Dr John Mamman, the Commission for Education appreciated the committee for supporting the ministry to succeed.
Mamman also appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in taking the education sector to the greater height.
The Commissioner assured of the ministry readiness to ensure that quality education is provided to the students in the state.
Also appeared before the committee was Management of Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 polytechnic Lafia led by the Rector, Dr Justina Kotso where she appreciated the committee and Gov. Sule for prioritizing polytechnic education in the state.
Kotso assured of her administration readiness to be up and doing in taking the polytechnic to the greater height.
Responding, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman of the committee assured of the committee’s commitment to support the polytechnic to succeed.
He urged them to ensure that quality polytechnic education is provided to the students.
The Committee also played host to the management of College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia on its 2024 budget defence.
