Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, has assured Journalists covering the House and other journalists in the State of better and improved welfare for effective dissemination of information within and beyond the state.

The Speaker gave the assurance while playing host to team of Journalists covering the activities of the House today in Lafia.

He said that improved and better welfare for journalist would promote optimal productivity.

” I believe in welfare as it is when you motivate staff/workers that there will be increased productivity.

” So I will look and address your welfare issues and provide gadgets for you for effective dissemination of the House activities,” he said.

He commended the Journalists in the House and the state at large for exhibiting sense of professionalism in discharging their responsibilities in term of news reportage.

The Speaker urged Journalists to continue to be professional in their reportage.

He appreciated the media team of the assembly for identifying with him at his joyful moment and assured them of his support at all times.

The Speaker also thanked the media team and other journalists for giving the assembly publicity at all times.

” I want to appreciate you for giving me and the House the much needed publicity at all times

” You are doing well,” the Speaker said.

Earlier, Mr Jibrin Gwamna, the Chief Press Secretary, who spoke through Mr Awayi Kuje, Principal Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) said that they were at the Speaker’s office to congratulate him on his emergence as Speaker of the 7th assembly.

” Sir, we are here to congratulate and rejoice with you on your emergence as Speaker of the House.

” Rt. Hon Sir, you are a man of peace, progress and development as we will continue to pray and support you to succeed,” he said.

He assured the Speaker of effective coverage of his activities and the activities of the House considering the importance of media to societal development.

In a related development, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, has urged religious leaders to continue to pray and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration, State Assembly and other leaders to succeed.

Jatau made the call while playing host to Forum of Imams from Lafia, the State Capital today in his office.

The Speaker said that prayers is key to the success of every government and individuals, hence the need of his call in that direction.

He also urged them and other people of the state to give their maximum support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule, State Assembly and other leaders at all levels to succeed.

” I want to appreciate you for the visit and to assure you of my commitment to provide all inclusive leadership

” I will continue to operate an open door policy and to carry everybody along for the overall development of the state,” he said

The Speaker urged the Imams and other people of the state to show love, embrace unity, peace and togetherness.

” We all one before God irrespective of our diversities. God knows why he created us with different tribes and religion backgrounds.

” Let’s continue to see each other as one and one family ,” he said

The Speaker appreciated Gov. Sule for his efforts in developing the state.

” His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule is being up and doing in developing the State.

” Let’s all support him to succeed and to enable all of us enjoy more dividends of democracy,” the Speaker said.

Earlier, Alhaji Umar Mallam Baba, the Leader of the delegation said that the visit was to congratulate and rejoice with Speaker Jatau on his emergence as Speaker of the 7th Assembly.

He assured the Speaker of their prayers and support to succeed.
