National Traders and Market Leaders Council of Nigeria has called on Dr Carol Nwosu, former Commissioner, Women Affairs, State of Washington DC, U.S., to run for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

The Council’s National Vice President, Mrs Patience Ejeagbasi, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

According to Ejeagbasi, Nwosu is a woman of intelligence, honour, understanding and cares for humanity, adding that her remarkable achievements on earth is something to reckon with.

“Her profile, both in Nigeria and in foreign countries, is something to reckon with, that is why we decided to make her our Mama and Matron. And the Council says, she should be the president of Nigeria, come 2023.

“Women are of good substance and reputation, Nwosu is resourceful. She is the person that can do the best for Nigeria. Women have been suffering under the male-dominated political leadership.

“Women are makers of homes. Men have been in the system for years and the system we have now is the type we cannot reckon with. We need a capable hand now.

“We need a woman that is able to come and take over this nation. We need peace and Nwosu is the one that can give us peace through Jesus Christ, because, God has given her the mantle,” Ejeagbasi said.

She explained that it was the women that gave the men power to be in political leadership, because according to her, women have the votes.

“This time around, we will come out and fight for Nwosu. We will get the votes for her and our votes will count.

“The men have always deceived us. They will come with rice, salt, bread, pure water, wrappers and soaps; and when we give them our votes and they get the political power, they never remember us.

“When they are there, they see us as poor women, but Nwosu has come out to be the voice for the women. We ask her to run for President.

“Let her stand for us and we will be there for her and our votes will count,” Ejeagbasi stressed.

NAN reports that Nwosu is a dynamic and energetic lady who has defended her country, Nigeria, and Nigerians without having to wait for official directives to carry out what is right.

She is a former Commissioner of Women Affairs in the State of Washington DC, and former Dean of Nursing at Howard University, all in the U.S.

Nwosu has been decorated with over 52 Chieftaincy titles and 200 prestigious awards of excellence in humanitarian service, education, empowerment, health and environment, both in the U.S. and Nigeria.

Nwosu is a Global Consultant on Micro, Small- and Medium-Enterprise, a financial and Health System Specialist, a philanthropist, politician, lobbyist, farmer, educator, activist, business woman of international repute and a retired public officer. (NAN)
